FAQ - POP Email Clients - Existing Accounts

How Do I Edit Or Verify My Email Account Settings In Entourage 2004, 2008, & 2010?

Description: The steps below assume that you have a valid, active email account already setup with SolutionPro. While you are in the Entourage program, perform the following steps:

  1. Click  the Tools menu
  2. Click Accounts
  3. Select your email account listed at the button
  4. Click Edit or Double Click the account
  5. Type your email address in the account name field
  6. Type your Name in the Name field
  7. Type your Full Email Address in the Account ID field
  8. Type in the following for the POP server: mail.spro.net
  9. Type in the following for SMTP server: mail.spro.net

    NOTE: OPTIONAL If you have your own domain name and your email does not end with @spro.net, you can change the POP3 & SMTP server settings to: mail.yourdomain.com

  10. Click on the, Click here for advanced sending options button
  11. Uncheck SMTP Service Requires SSL
  12. Check Override default SMTP port
  13. Type 587 in the SMTP Port field
  14. Click the check box SMTP server requires authentication box
  15. Close the settings window
  16. Click Ok

That’s it!

NOTE: If you are unable to send email after you have changed these settings it is possible that your internet service provider may be blocking your outbound email for security reasons. Providers such as Cableone, Verizon, and Clear have been known to do this. If this scenario applies to you, all outgoing email support questions will need to be directed to your ISP. SolutionPro does not have the ability to manage outbound email restrictions set in place by an internet service provider.
